•received her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also holds a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas and a Master’s Degree from the University of New Mexico;

•has been admitted to practice in the state courts of North Carolina, as well as the federal district courts in the eastern and middle districts of North Carolina. She is a member of the Pitt County Bar Association, the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers, the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys and the Greenville Chapter of Business Networking International;

•has tried cases before juries in Pitt, Craven, Beaufort, Lenoir, Wilson, and, Hertford counties in North Carolina among others, as well as in the federal court of the eastern district of North Carolina. She has also represented state employees before the Office of Administrative Hearings in Raleigh and has represented employees before the North Carolina Industrial Commission;

•has resolved numerous other employment matters by settlement agreement;

•has served as an organizational communication consultant for several large organizations;

•has worked as a mediator and as a mediation trainer for the Mediation Center of Eastern North Carolina;

Mary-Ann Leon grew up in Southern California and now resides in Greenville, North Carolina with her husband and son.
